Chocolate Coffee Protein Shake

Iced Chocolate Coffee Protein Shake (high protein, low carb, gluten free, diabetes friendly, Paleo)
This Low-Carb Chocolate Coffee Protein Shake has a silky-smooth consistency with a decadent chocolate and coffee flavor. It's perfect before or after a hard workout, or anytime you need a delicious pick-me-up!
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes
Servings: 1 serving

Ingredients

  • 4 egg whites (186 g) – use pasteurized liquid egg whites
  • ½ teaspoon instant coffee
  • 2 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon Stevia
  • 4 large ice cubes

Instructions

  • Blend 2 of the egg whites, a ½ tbsp of Stevia, coffee, cocoa, and 4 ice cubes in a blender until it has the consistency of slush ice.
  • In a separate glass, blend the remaining egg whites and ½ tbsp of stevia until they are stiff and fluffy.
  • Pour the slush ice blend into a high glass and top off with the whipped egg whites.
  • Sprinkle a little cocoa powder on top.

Notes

This recipe is for one protein shake.
Be sure to buy pasteurized eggs to eliminate the risk of salmonella.
The whipped egg whites will not hold their air for very long, so I do not recommend making this shake ahead of time. The longer it sits, the more it will deflate.
