Chocolate Coffee Protein Shake
This Low-Carb Chocolate Coffee Protein Shake has a silky-smooth consistency with a decadent chocolate and coffee flavor. It's perfect before or after a hard workout, or anytime you need a delicious pick-me-up!
Servings 1 serving
- 4 egg whites (186 g) – use pasteurized liquid egg whites
- ½ tsp. instant coffee
- 2 tsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp. Stevia
- 4 large ice cubes
Blend 2 of the egg whites, a ½ tbsp of Stevia, coffee, cocoa, and 4 ice cubes in a blender until it has the consistency of slush ice.
In a separate glass, blend the remaining egg whites and ½ tbsp of stevia until they are stiff and fluffy.
Pour the slush ice blend into a high glass and top off with the whipped egg whites.
Sprinkle a little cocoa powder on top.
This recipe is for one protein shake.
Be sure to buy pasteurized eggs to eliminate the risk of salmonella.
The whipped egg whites will not hold their air for very long, so I do not recommend making this shake ahead of time. The longer it sits, the more it will deflate.
