Advertisement & Sponsorship Policy
The mission of Diabetes Strong is to provide a platform where people living with any type of diabetes can find all the information they need to live healthy and active lives. We are deeply committed to always putting the needs of people touched by diabetes first. In all of our decisions, if there is ever a conflict between business and what is right for people living with diabetes, we will choose what is right for people with diabetes.
To help us maintain the resources needed to create the quality content you deserve, we accept advertisements on our website. The source of funding is always clearly stated when relevant and has no influence on the general editorial content of the website.
If you have feedback – such as seeing advertisements that you feel conflict with our mission or are misleading – please email us at email@example.com with a description of the ad and a link to the page where it appeared.
Diabetes Strong maintains a distinct separation between advertising content and editorial content. All advertising content on this website is delivered by Mediavine inc. and is clearly labeled as an advertisement. Sponsored areas of the site are labeled as such, and the sponsoring organizations are identified.
We do not accept certain types of ads
We do not accept ads or sponsorships from products or brands that are unsuitable for people living with diabetes. This includes medications and supplements that haven’t been approved by the Food & Drugs Administration (FDA), tobacco, and certain health and beauty products.
Ads must not contain fraudulent, deceptive, or offensive material, including material that misrepresents, ridicules, or attacks an individual or group on the basis of age, color, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or disability. Ads should not contain defamatory, libelous, slanderous, or threatening information.
We clearly distinguish ads and sponsorships from editorial content
All ads must clearly identify the advertiser. All ads on DiabetesStrong.com are labeled as an “Ad,” “Advertisement,” “Sponsored” or a similar designation indicating that the content is being provided by or on behalf of the sponsor.
Editorial content is not influenced by advertisements unless the content is sponsored content, in which case, the content will be clearly demarcated and identified with the description “Sponsored” with the name of the sponsor clearly displayed, indicating that the content is being provided by or on behalf of an advertiser or sponsor.
We may sometimes include links to relevant products we feel could be useful to our readers in our editorial content. While all products are chosen independently, we want you to know that Diabetes Strong may receive a payment if you make a purchase at the retailer’s site after clicking an affiliate link.
Diabetes Strong is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an amazon associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
We don’t endorse any advertised products or services
Our acceptance of any ad should never be considered an endorsement of the product(s) and/or service(s) advertised, or for the company that manufactures, distributes, or promotes these product(s) or service(s).
If we review or rate products or services, these ratings or rankings are determined solely by the editorial team without regard to any financial or advertising relationship that may exist with companies that provide the product or services.
