Toby Smithson, MS, RDN, LD, CDCES, FAND
Toby is the 2020 Diabetes Educator of the Year. She guides people with diabetes to better practice diabetes self-management at her website DiabetesEveryDay
She will talk about healthy nutrition and weight loss.
Bill Polonsky, Ph.D., CDE, Psychologist
Bill is Associate Clinical Professor in Medicine at the University of California San Diego.
He will talk about the mental aspects of diabetes and dealing with diabetes burnout.

Because of a bad fall last year where I Fractured my right Hip and Thigh in 3 places an had to have Surgery. They put a metal Rod an some pins and Screws in to fix it. I am unable to do a lot of excersizes, Is there things I can do without getting on the floor or having to do a lot of standing? Thank you.

Yes, we’re collaborating with Glucosezone this year, and they have workouts for all fitness levels as well as chair workouts. Glucosezone is an online training app for people living with diabetes and you’ll get access to all of their workouts during the challenge. That way you can choose the workouts that are right for you and as many as you want

Checking this out. My PT for 2 injuries is goin g well and I have way more energy and less pain than at diagnosis 8 months ago. Hoping this is the next step I need to find the key get. myself into remission….if that’s possible, still waiting on genetic testing for MODY. Slightly high may be my physiological new normal.
