These buffalo chicken burgers combine all the flavors of buffalo hot wings into one delicious burger. Just top with blue cheese dressing, wrap with lettuce, and dig in!
When you’re craving bar food, do you go for buffalo hot wings or a big juicy burger?
Personally, I don’t like to choose between the two… instead, I combine them into one delicious recipe for buffalo chicken burgers!
These hearty patties are crammed with flavor. We’re talking chicken, celery, carrots, hot sauce, and blue cheese all wrapped up in a crisp lettuce bun.
This meal is so tasty and satisfying. And since there’s no bun to spike your blood sugars, you can enjoy guilt-free!
How to make buffalo chicken burgers
These burgers are so simple to make, they’ll probably be ready faster than if you went to your neighborhood bar and ordered a burger or wings. And you’ll feel much better afterwards, too!
Step 1: In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, shredded carrots, chopped celery, chopped scallions, egg, hot sauce, and blue cheese crumbles. Mix until well-combined.
Step 2: Shape the mixture into four patties.
Step 3: Pan-fry, grill, or broil the burgers until cooked through.
Step 4: Place each burger on a lettuce leaf, add your desired toppings, then roll up and eat as a lettuce wrap.
I like to top mine with blue cheese dressing and extra hot sauce!
Please note that the nutritional info below is only for the buffalo chicken patties and does not include any additional toppings.
How to lower the sodium in this recipe
If you’re watching your salt intake, there are a few ways you can reduce the sodium in this recipe.
Most of the sodium is coming from the hot sauce, so the simplest solution is to cut back on the amount used. You could also look for brands that contain less sodium.
The blue cheese also has some sodium, so you could choose to cut back on that ingredient as well.
How to serve buffalo burgers
My favorite way to enjoy these burgers is to top them with blue cheese dressing and wrap them up in butter or iceberg lettuce. They’re so hearty and satisfying!
I also really enjoy them on a salad. In fact, that’s my favorite way to use up leftovers!
I simply combine lettuce, shredded carrots, diced celery, and blue cheese dressing, then crumble the buffalo burgers on top. So delicious!
These chicken burgers will keep very well, which makes them great for meal prep. I always try to make enough so that I’ll have extra burgers to enjoy throughout the week.
Leftovers can be stored covered in the refrigerator and should be enjoyed within 3-4 days.
