These are truly the best baked boneless pork chops I’ve ever tried! I might be a little biased because it’s a recipe from my childhood, but if you try them, I think you’ll agree.
My mom would drown the pork chops in this rich tomato, onion, and cheese sauce, and they were absolutely divine! She made them for me last time I was in Denmark to visit her and I just had to make them myself after I got home so I could share them with you.
The best thing about this recipe is that every step of the cooking method ensures juicy, tender pork chops that are full of flavor.

How to make baked boneless pork chops in tomato sauce
For what a rich and delicious dish this is, it’s actually very straightforward to make. You simply sear the pork chops, create the tomato sauce in the same pan, then combine it all in a baking dish and throw it in the oven with some cheese on top!
Step 1: Preheat oven to 400 F (200 C).
Step 2: Cut the onions into rings. Peel and slice the garlic.
Step 3: Cut the fat rind off the pork chops (if needed).
Step 4: Coat a pan with cooking spray and place over medium-high heat. Season pork chops with pepper and sear for about 2 minutes on each side (until light brown).
Step 5: Take the pork chops off the heat and place them in a deep baking pan.
Step 6: Add onion rings and garlic to the pan you used to sear the pork chops and sear for about a minute on each side.
Step 7: Add tomato, bouillon cube, and spices to the pan and mix it all together. Let it simmer for 2 minutes.
Step 8: Pour the tomato sauce over the pork chops.
Step 9: Sprinkle cheese on top before placing in the oven and baking for 20 minutes.
Step 10: Take the pork chops out of the oven and let them rest in the pan for 5 minutes before serving.
If you like, you can serve these baked boneless pork chops with a small side of rice as you see in the photos or just some steamed veggies. You really don’t NEED a side, but something to soak up the tomato sauce never hurts!
Cooking juicy pork chops

By pouring the tomato sauce on top, you’re smothering those pork chops with moisture to ensure they turn out juicy and tender.
Also, baking them at a lower temperature of 400 F is another way to keep them from drying out. Because they are a lean cut of meat, overcooking them (cooking them too long or at too high of a temperature) is an easy way to end up with a tough pork chop.
Finally, letting these guys rest in the pan for five minutes before serving is yet another critical step to keeping your dish juicy and tender. When you let pork rest, the meat fibers relax. It might sound a little strange, but trust me, you definitely want relaxed meat fibers.
