These Healthy Turkey Roll-Ups with Cranberry and Pecan are salty, sweet, creamy, and crunchy! They’re a great high-protein snack that takes minutes to make and only requires 5 ingredients.

I am always looking for easy, no fuss snack recipes. If they can be made ahead, that’s a bonus!

So, when I came up with these turkey roll-ups, I knew I’d hit the jackpot. They are so tasty, incredibly easy to make, and use ingredients I almost always have on hand. With a stash of these in my refrigerator, I always have a delicious and nutritious snack ready.

These little rolls also make great party appetizers. You can make them ahead of time and set them on a cute platter for healthy finger food that’s perfect for sharing!

How to make healthy turkey roll-ups

These delicious little pinwheel bites come together in just a few easy steps!

Step 1: Lay a turkey breast slice on a cutting board.

Step 2: Spread 2 tablespoons of cream cheese into a thin layer over the slice.

Step 3: Sprinkle the dried cranberries, pecans, and green onions over the cream cheese layer.

Step 4: Working from the short end of the turkey slice, roll the turkey slice up jelly-roll style.

Step 5: Repeat with remaining turkey breast slices.

That’s it! You can either enjoy the roll as-is, or refrigerate the rolls for 15-20 minutes before slicing into thirds.

Now you have a perfect, tasty snack ready to go whenever you need it!

Tips for easy roll-ups

This snack is incredibly easy to make. But of course, like any recipe, there are still a few simple tips that make it even easier!

First, when you’re buying your turkey breast, look for slices that are a bit thicker. If the slices are paper-thin, they are harder to roll and more likely to split. They will still be delicious, but not quite as pretty, and the process is a bit more frustrating.

Second, if you want to slice up your turkey rolls like I do, chilling them makes this easier. After you’ve rolled the turkey breast slice around the fillings, I recommend putting the roll in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes.

The cream cheese will be more likely to stay in place after cooling for a bit. If you try to slice them right away, the cream cheese may ooze out the sides a bit. Again, still tasty, but not quite as pretty or as simple.

Choosing your flavors

One of the great things about these roll-ups is that you can play around with a variety of different flavors!

What I love about the cranberry and pecan combination is that the cranberries add a burst of flavor while the pecans add a satisfying crunch. So if you do decide to replace either one, I recommend choosing ingredients that will still give you that strong taste and texture.

For example, dried cherries or apricots would be delicious in place of the cranberries! Really any kind of dried fruit will be very tasty. But you could also use basil, chives, or even chilies. Pretty much any fresh herb or flavorful veggie will work.

And in place of the pecans, chopped walnuts or pumpkin seeds will still give you that texture that makes the pinwheels so satisfying.

Finally, if you want to add a bit more flavor, you could use an onion and chive cream cheese instead of plain! This would add a fabulous layer of flavor.

Keto turkey pinwheels?

I didn’t specifically create these roll-ups to be ketogenic, but with a small tweak, they would make a great keto snack!

The majority of the carbs in this recipe come from the dried cranberries. To lessen the carb count, simply reduce the amount used, or replace them with something like fresh herbs instead.

You could also increase the fat content by using a deli cut that is less lean, such as ham or even salami. Just be sure to think about the flavors when picking your ingredients, since cranberries and salami probably won’t be the best combination!

Storage

These turkey roll-ups are a great snack to prep ahead of time so you have them ready throughout the week.

The best way to store this snack is to wrap the roll in plastic wrap, then store in the refrigerator. This will not only help to keep them fresh, but it also lets them keep their shape. The rolls can be stored for up to a week.

US Customary – Metric

Recipe Notes

This recipe is for 4 servings. Each serving will be 1 oz. of turkey. The number of rolls per serving will depend on the size and thickness of your turkey breast slices.
Thicker turkey breast slices will be easier to roll and less likely to split.
Before cutting your roll, chill in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes to help the cream cheese firm up.
You can substitute the cranberries for other dried fruit, fresh herbs, or flavorful veggies.
You can substitute the chopped pecans for other chopped nuts or seeds.
For storage, wrap the roll in plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator for up to a week.

    I’m a bit confused.
In your notes you state: “This recipe is for 4 servings. Each serving will be 4 oz. of turkey.”
But the ingredients list shows: “¼ lb turkey breast slices”
    Please clarify.
    Thanks!

Sorry, that was an error. It should say that each serving is 1 oz. of turkey.
